Jim’s Motivation to Join Ceeview

Ken Vanderweel (KV): Jim, what attracted you to Ceeview, and what do you find most exciting about the company?

Jim Laccabue (JL): I was particularly drawn to Ceeview because of its innovative approach to systems management and monitoring, an area I’ve been involved in since the early days of my career. What sets Ceeview apart is its focus on providing actionable business insights rather than just technical data. This aligns perfectly with what I believe is necessary for companies today—what I like to call “Operational Intelligence.” It’s about integrating and leveraging existing tools to provide a comprehensive view of business operations, enabling companies to achieve a higher level of operational excellence and efficiency.

KV: How do you see Ceeview differentiating itself in a crowded market of IT solutions?

JL: Many enterprises in our industry, despite having access to infrastructure, application, and network data, still find themselves in “hair-on-fire” situations—reactive crises because they lack a holistic, correlated view of their operations. What excites me about Ceeview is that it has “crossed the chasm” by delivering a single-pane-of-glass solution. This means providing not just visibility, but meaningful, actionable insights and cost analysis across an organization’s entire IT, business service, and cloud environments. This comprehensive capability is something that other vendors often miss, as they tend to offer isolated views or point solutions. Ceeview’s approach gives executives the complete picture needed for informed decision-making.

Understanding “Operational Intelligence”

KV: Could you elaborate on what you mean by “Operational Intelligence” and how Ceeview embodies this concept?

JL: “Operational Intelligence” is Ceeview’s ability to unify various data points—ranging from high-level cost analysis to micro-level sensor data—into a single platform. This integration allows companies to monitor their IT environments more effectively, as well as understand and optimize their business services. It’s about maximizing the utility of existing investments and avoiding the constant churn of new tool adoption. Ceeview’s flexibility in working with the tools and data an organization already has is a key selling point, especially in today’s economy, where the focus is on deriving more value from current investments rather than making new ones.

KV: Looking ahead, how do you envision Ceeview’s role in the U.S. IT observability market?

JL: I see Ceeview becoming a disruptor in the U.S. IT observability space by setting new standards for what “Operational Intelligence” can achieve. Our holistic approach to systems management represents a significant leap forward, offering businesses comprehensive insights they need to optimize operations and achieve superior outcomes. There’s a great opportunity to introduce Ceeview’s unique value proposition to a broader audience, especially when so many companies are still struggling to get the visibility and control they need to run their businesses efficiently.

KV: It’s clear you’re passionate about what Ceeview offers. How do you plan to approach your role in driving growth in the U.S. market?

JL: My focus will be on working closely with all types of enterprises and solution providers to unlock the full potential of Ceeview’s solutions. I’m eager to actively engage with these organizations, strategize with their teams, and roll up my sleeves to demonstrate how Ceeview can deliver high-impact results. For enterprises, it’s about showcasing how we provide visibility into business services for continuous service delivery excellence. With solution providers, it’s about positioning Ceeview for new value creation and revenue opportunities. My goal is to build partnerships based on mutual success and impactful outcomes.

Getting to Know Jim: A Glimpse into His Personal Side

Beyond his professional achievements, Jim is a man of many interests. He is an avid cook, inspired by his grandmother’s Italian recipes, and skilled in a variety of dishes, including over 20 types of risottos. His passion for cooking extends to his family, with his oldest daughter now a chef at a Michelin-recognized restaurant in New York City.

Jim also enjoys beekeeping, collaborating with a close friend from the San Jose Bee Guild to produce honey. This hobby reflects his appreciation for nature and sustainability, providing a peaceful retreat from the business world. Additionally, Jim is a sports enthusiast, with a love for golf, pickleball, and cycling. His background in competitive tennis and his active lifestyle make him an energetic and engaging individual, always ready to connect with others over shared interests.
